Sweet Almond Oil is probably one of the most popular ingredients in natural skin care. Its simple composition, light texture, and emollient properties make it an easy go-to ingredient for almost any formulation. Those same reliable qualities are present in Sweet Almond Butter.
Sweet Almond Butter is actually a Sweet Almond Oil that has been hydrogenated to give it a smooth, buttery texture. Since this butter retains all the natural benefits of Sweet Almond Oil; high levels of essential fatty acids and antioxidants, vitamins A, B, and E, it is perfect for use in dry skin formulations such as lotions, creams, and body butters. Due to the creamy texture of Sweet Almond Butter it can also be used as is.
Sweet Almond Butter is especially useful in formulas that are intended to stay firm, but not harden completely. Like Aloe or Avocado Butter, Sweet Almond Butter is soft enough to be scooped by hand, while being totally solid at room temperature. Butters like these can be wonderful for use in bath melts and intensive balms.

What are some of the most recommended oils or butters for scarring and stretch marks?
Does the Arnica CO2 extract have the same properties as Arnica extract? I am trying to make a massage blend for a massage therapist I know and have found a lot of information on Arnica but cannot find the oil itself.
Have you ever heard of Ivy extract? Again I have found information on it but cannot find the oil itself. Any information would be great. Thanks

Some oils that are often used in the treatment of scars are Emu Oil, Rosehip Oil, and Cocoa Butter. Any oil rich in Vitamin E may be helpful in a massage oil blend meant for this purpose. Sweet Almond Oil, for example would be a wonderful base for an Emu Oil and Rosehip Oil Blend. Carrot Seed Oil, Essential Oil or CO2 Extract would also be a helpful addition in a scar blend.
As for your question about Arnica , you may be relieved to know most Arnica Oils are actually composed of Arnica Extract in a carrier oil base. Buy using Arnica CO2 Extract, you’ll be using a much stronger ingredient compared to most Arnica Oils.

I am trying to make a cell renewal blend or scar remover using almond oil and rosehip oil. My end product has a slight scent which I would like to camouflage. WHat type of oil or scent should I use and how much of this scent should I put? Thanks.

You can use any type of skin safe Cosmetic Fragrance Oil to mask the
aroma at between 3 – 5%. If youd like to keep your formula all
natural, try using an Essential Oil that will compliment the aroma as
well as the properties of your recipe. Carrot Seed and Helichrysum
Essential Oils can help to reduce the appearance of scars, but do not
produce the most intense of aromas. If their aromas are not to your
liking, you may want to try adding a more pungent Essential Oil such as
Lavender or Geranium, both of which can also be beneficial to healing
and the appearance of skin. Add any Essential Oil or Essential Oil
Blend at a lesser rate than Fragrance Oil, between 1 – 3%.
