This nutty scented lip balm has a rich, creamy flavor that will keep you coming back for more. Made with intensely moisturizing Pistachio and Macadamia Nut Butters, this recipe brings together a bevy of nutty goodness. Walnut Oil gives this recipe extra conditioning and shine, which your lips will surely adore. Lecithin adds a creamy texture to the mix, increasing the balms adherence, and feel.
Creamy Walnut Lip Butter
Ingredients
- 1/8 cup Yellow Beeswax
- 1/8 cup Walnut Oil
- 1 tablespoon Pistachio Butter
- 1 tablespoon Macadamia Nut Butter
- 1/4 teaspoon Lecithin
- 1 teaspoon Almond Flavor Oil
- 1 teaspoon Buttercream Flavor Oil
Directions
In a double boiler, heat the Beeswax until it is fully melted. Next, add the Pistachio and Macadamia Butters. When the Butters have melted, add the Walnut Oil and Lecithin to the mixture. Stir the ingredient wells to combine them, and then remove from heat. Allow the mixture to cool for a few minutes, stirring slowly to keep it from hardening. Add the Almond and Buttercream Flavor Oils, stir again, and then pour the mixture into containers. Allow the Lip Balms to cool and harden completely before you attempt to move them.

Im glad you liked this recipe. Let us know how it turns out for you!
Lana says
Does anyone know if this would melt during the warm/hot months?
Emmy Gabriel says
This Lip Balm recipe is fairly firm as lip balms go. While it would melt under extreme temperatures (if left inside a hot car in the Summer, or maybe on a hot beach), it should be fine for everyday use during the Spring and Summer.
Cindy says
this recipe sounds nice. is it possible to post ingredients as weight instead of volume?
Emmy Gabriel says
Hi Cindy. Im happy to hear that you like our recipe! It would be a little tricky to convert this recipe into weight measurements, but you can easily convert it to metric liquid measurements. It might not convert to exact measurements, but its OK to round the measurements up or down a little for ease of use. Lip balms are pretty resilient, so small changes wont affect the end product very much.

This lip balm sounds delicious! To sell this product what else do you recommend mixing in so that it can last atleast a year?
Emmy Gabriel says
Hi Laura.
This recipe is fairly stable, since it is totally oil and wax based. If youd like, you could include some Vitamin E T50 to help keep the oils in the recipe as fresh as possible.

Do you know how many ounces this provides? Want to make sure I have enough 1/4 ounce containers. Thank you!
Emmy Gabriel says
Hi Sheree. This should come out to a little over 3 ounces by volume.
Michelle says
Could it be possible to use essential oils instead of flavor oils?
The Natural Beauty Workshop says
Hi Michelle,
You could certainly scent this recipe with Essential Oil. Just make sure that the oil you choose is safe for lips and properly diluted. Peppermint and Spearmint are my personal favorites for lip balm.

This lip balm sounds fantastic. I love the walnut oil & nut butters, just one question, would they cause a problem for the person with a nut allergy? Would you have to put a warning on the label.
The Natural Beauty Workshop says
I’m so glad you like the recipe. You would definitely want to let people know that this contains nut oil. The oils could potentially cause a reaction for anyone with a nut allergy.
