In fact, formulating a soap bar that includes ingredients that are beneficial to the hair is a great way to invent your own shampoo bar recipe. From Nature With Love carries an extensive variety of ingredients that can be helpful to hair. Try creating a cold process, hot process, or hand milled soap recipe using some of the following ingredients. Do you have an actual recipe for a shampoo bar?

Hi Carol. This article was meant to help folks create their own Shampoo Bar recipes. Thats why we didnt list one in the post. You can choose your favorite ingredients from the list in the article, then use our Soapulator Tool to create a cold process soap recipe in order to make your own, unique Shampoo Bars. Heres a link to the Soapulator Page: http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/resources/creator.asp
We also have a few Shampoo Bar recipes in our Recipe Database on From Nature With Love. These are customer submitted recipes, so I would definitely recommend running the Cold Process recipes through our Soapulator, or another Soap Calculator before using them. Youll want to make sure that the levels of Lye are safe. Here are links to the recipes we have in our Recipe Database:

Love the natural oils used in shampoo bar soaps. This is the first time I heard of coffee oil used in soap. How interesting.

I prefer a simple recipe. I really love the citrus essential oils (preference for lemongrass or orange) in my shampoo bars for oily hair. Lavender and rosemary essential oils are also added and this blend is my favorite for shampoo bars. Olive leaf and comfrey root powders are the final add-ins.
I really apprciate this post. I can try some new recipes and see how they work. Thanks!

I love lemongrass in shampoo bars too! One of my favorite shampoo bars was a beer soap scented with lemongrass. It was a pleasure to use, and lovely on my hair. Im glad you enjoyed this post. Have fun experimenting!
