Mango Lassi Skin Smoothing Scrub

Is there anything more delicious than a freshly made mango lassi?  This special yogurt drink was the inspiration for the following sugar scrub.  It combines moisturizing Mango Butter and Avocado Oil with skin smoothing Yogurt Powder.  Turmeric Powder gives the scrub a fresh, bright color, while our Mango Fragrance Oil gives it a mouth watering aroma.  Because this recipe includes Yogurt Powder it will be a little more fragile than your run of the mill scrub.  It is best to use the scrub when it is fresh made, or store it in the refrigerator between uses.  Adding a preservative, such as Grapefruit Seed Extract would also be a good idea. 

Mango Lassi Skin Smoothing Scrub

Ingredients

• ½ cup Sugar*
• 1 tablespoon Mango Butter (melted)
• 3 tablespoons Avocado Oil
• 1 tablespoon Yogurt Powder
• ½ teaspoon Mango Fragrance Oil
• ¼ teaspoon Turmeric Powder

*Note: We used White Sugar in our test batch, but you could use a raw or natural sugar in its place.  You can also substitute any fine grain salt if you prefer using salt scrubs.

Directions

In a medium sized mixing bowl, combine the Sugar, Mango Butter, and two tablespoons of the Avocado Oil.  In a smaller bowl, mix the Yogurt Powder and 1 tablespoon of Avocado Oil, making sure to break up any clumps.  When the yogurt mixture is smooth, add it to the other ingredients and mix well.  Next, add the Turmeric Powder and Mango Fragrance Oil to the mixture.  Stir well to make sure all the ingredients are combined.  

Usage & Packaging

The Mango Lassi Skin Smoothing Scrub looks great in our 4 oz. Flat PET Jars.  Massage the scrub onto moistened skin in a circular motion, than rinse away.  This scrub is great for use as a general body scrub, but would be too harsh for the face or other sensitive areas.
