I'm happy to be part of a lively community of creative people in my new home town of Austin, Texas. One of my favorite groups of creatives is the food blogging community. I've met amazing folks who love to cook, can, and bake, and it is striking how many of them, for one reason or another, stick to gluten free diets. A friend of mine, who writes a great blog on living gluten free, recently posted an article on Twitter that immediately caught my interest: Gluten in Cosmetics: A Threat to People with Celiac Disease?
I have become pretty familiar with the challenge of finding gluten free foods and recipes, but for some reason, the idea of gluten in cosmetics had not crossed my mind. Now that it has, I see that it makes perfect sense for those suffering from celiac, or those choosing to keep gluten-free for other reasons, to seek out personal care products that are gluten free. After all, what goes on your body, goes in your body. Isn't that the whole reason this blog exists? Inspired, I began researching what ingredients are typically used in cosmetics that contain gluten. Although it is a very long list, most of these ingredients are not used in DIY skin care. In fact, there are very few ingredients or products carried at From Nature With Love that pose a risk.

A Word on Vitamin E
Vitamin E Oils and Vitamin E Antioxidants can sometimes be sourced from wheat, so be sure to ask your supplier about its source.
