Don’t you just love ginger? The warm, spicy aroma of this exotic root can perk me up no matter how low or slow I might be feeling. Ginger is known for its invigorating qualities. It can help to stimulate circulation, boost immunity, and even reduce pain or inflammation. In skin care, ginger’s benefits are wonderful additions to massage, scrubs, and body wraps. We’ve used our Ginger CO2 Extract in this pedicure scrub for its antiseptic and stimulating properties. Paired with healing Karanja Oil, and Copaiba Balsam, this scrub is perfect for whipping tired feet into shape.
Karanja Oil is a cousin to Neem Oil, which is treasured for its healing properties, but notorious for its characteristic aroma. Karanja has similar properties to its stinky cousin but is a lot more pleasant to work with. Copaiba Balsam is extracted from a tall tree native to the Amazonion basin of Brazil. The clear, earthy smelling liquid boasts amazing properties. It is antifungal, antiseptic, and germicidal, making it an excellent choice for pedicure recipes.
Sugar and honey are not only yummy, but excellent cleansers. Combined, they give this scrub a medium-rough texture that is great for gently scrubbing feet. For extra exfoliation, try following this scrub with a pumice stone.

Usage & Packaging
This scrub looks quite nice in one of our 4-Ounce PET Jars. It should be used within two weeks without an added preservative. If you’d like to store the scrub longer, or add a preservative to protect against mishandling, consider a natural ingredient like Grapefruit Seed Extract or a synthetic preservative such as Liquapar Oil. For more information on working with preservatives, check out the articles on our Preservatives Page.

I love ginger – I also have found that lemongrass works well in making my own scrubs but not sure whether it has any great properties? It smells lovely though!
