Adding exfoliating ingredients to bar soaps is a great way to promote lather, add visual interest, and increase the cleansing power of almost any recipe. By adding between 1 teaspoon and 1 tablespoon of exfoliant per pound of soap you can easily give a simple soap formula a whole new twist.
We recently added five new ingredients to our extensive line of all-natural exfoliants. The following ingredients are superb for soap making, but can also be included in scrubs for hands, feet, and body care.
Olive Seed Powder provides medium to aggressive abrasion and offers a gorgeous mottled color. Warm tan is speckled with darker brown spots adding beauty to soaps and scrubs.
Apricot Seed Powder is ground from carefully selected seeds of the apricot fruit. The result is a lovely and slightly variegated powder with a medium to aggressive abrasion. The powder appears slightly darker in clear soap.
Offering a mild to medium abrasion, Rice Husk Powder provides a slightly more mild option for adding exfoliation to natural soaps. The powder is warm in color and has a subtle orange hue when added to clear soap.
The perfect visual accent to almond scented soaps, Almond Shell Powder also acts as a medium to aggressive exfoliant. The powder has a warm tan color with subtle specks of darker color.
Warm colored Cherry Seed Powder provides medium to aggressive abrasion when added to soaps and scrubs. The reddish brown color of the seed powder becomes more deep and vibrant when added to clear soap.
