Fresh facials provide an excellent opportunity to pamper your face with active ingredients that can be tricky to formulate into shelf-stable products. Vitamin C, for example, can be notoriously short-lived, and difficult to preserve in serums and creams. On the other hand, fresh ingredients, like kiwi fruit, are bursting with Vitamin C, making them perfect for boosting skin’s tone, appearance, and wellness using quick and easy facial treatments.
This mask combines the Vitamin-rich flesh of a fresh kiwi with our cold-pressed Kiwi Seed Oil, a few drops of soothing Yarrow Essential Oil, and a scoop of deep-cleansing Bentonite Clay. A few drops of honey are included to enhance the moisturizing benefit of the recipe. The result is a beautiful fresh mask that provides antioxidant benefit and essential fatty acids along with a nice detox.
Fresh masks are best used right away, but you can keep any extra in the fridge for a few days after it has been made. This recipe should be suitable for most skin types, but Bentonite Clay can sometimes be a bit harsh for those with very dry or sensitive skin. In those cases, I would recommend using something more mild, like Kaolin Clay instead.
One other important thing to note: If you have a food sensitivity to kiwi fruit, it may also irritate the skin when used topically. Those with sensitivities to kiwi fruit should not use this recipe.
