Cooling Lavender Body Mist: a refreshing body spray infused with an herbaceous blend of florals and mint.
Water-based fragrances, like this Cooling Lavender Body Mist, can provide a comforting and refreshing break from our daily toils and troubles. There’s something magical about splashing your body with a cool mist of water. It can wake you up, lift your spirits, and put a little pep back into your step. This is especially true when the formula is packed with herbal ingredients like natural essential oil and hydrosols.
Lavender Hydrosol is made during the steam distillation process of Lavender Essential Oil. The resulting byproduct is a water-based ingredient that carries many of lavender’s most famous benefits, but in a far more mild and gentle form. Our Organic Lavender Hydrosol has a fresh, green aroma that is slightly earthier than the corresponding essential oil. It is used in aromatherapy for formulations that battle anxiety, depression, and irritability.
In addition to lavender, our Cooling Lavender Body Mist contains two other delightful aromatic ingredients. Our Organic Spearmint has a sweet, green aroma that sparks feelings of clarity and contentment. Our FCF Organic Bergamot Essential Oil has a floral-citrus aroma and is often used by aromatherapists to battle fatigue and relieve stress.
You can customize our Cooling Lavender Body Spray formula by experimenting with different combinations of Hydrosols and Essential Oils. For a more intense burst of coolness, try using our Andean Mint Essential Oil. For a body splash that is more heavily floral, consider adding a few drops of our Jasmine Sambac Select CO2 Extract.
About the Ingredients
Organic Lavender Hydrosol
Our Lavender Hydrosol offers the well-known herbal benefits of lavender in a gentle, water-based ingredient. Hydrosols are perfect for making sprays and splashes, and facial toners. They can also be used in place of water in lotion and cream recipes.
Liquid Castile Soap
Liquid Castile Soap acts as a natural emulsifier in our Cooling Lavender Body Mist recipe. The small amount of soap allows the essential oils to distribute easily throughout the liquid base where they would typically not mix.
Organic Palm-Free Vegetable Glycerin
Glycerin acts as a humectant, drawing moisture to the skin and helping to retain it there. Our Organic Palm-Free Vegetable Glycerin offers a sustainable alternative to the more common glycerin derived from palm products.
Organic Bergamot Essential Oil, FCF
Our FCF Organic Bergamot Essential Oil offers the delightful aroma of bergamot without the phytotoxicity concerns typically associated with bergamot oils. Offering an essential oil free of furanocoumarin allows for a much wider range of uses for bergamot. The sweet, citrus and floral aroma of Bergamot Essential Oil blends very well with spices, woods, and herbs. In aromatherapy, bergamot is often considered uplifting, balancing, and rejuvenating.
Organic Spearmint Essential Oil
Spearmint Essential Oil has a slightly sweeter and more mild aroma than peppermint, making it a great choice for complementing other oils in blends. We love how our Organic Spearmint Essential Oil blends with the tart and cheerful aroma of bergamot and the herbaceous aroma of lavender.
Lactobacillus Ferment
Lactobacillus ferment uses the same type of bacteria that you might find in cultured foods such as pickles or kimchi. In oil and water emulsions, lactobacillus helps to battle unwanted microbes and help ensure the longevity and freshness of skin care products.
