Long known for its medicinal properties by the native people of Central and South America, the Sangre de Drago tree is a beautiful example of the power of Amazonian plants. This majestic tree bleeds a dark red sap, also known as “Dragon’s Blood”, which has been used for generations as a natural healing agent for wounds, insect bites, skin conditions, and even internal medicine. The sap of the Sangre de Drago contains powerful antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.
Components within Sangre de Drago are also known to help promote collagen formation and skin regeneration. The powerful antioxidants in Sangre de Drago, combined with its natural anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antiseptic properties make it an ideal ingredient in healing and restorative formulations. It may also be helpful in the treatment of eczema, chronically dry skin, psoriasis, acne, and other skin conditions.
Sangre de Drago Resin has a dark red color and a slightly woody and medicinal aroma. It has a thin, watery texture and is soluble in water. It can be used as-is or added to the water phase of lotions, creams, soaps, and salves. Sangre de Drago may also be used to create herbal infusions and water based recipes such as sprays and rinses. Yet another use for Sangre de Drago is that of a wetting agent for fresh masks, facials, and poultices.

I want to use sangre de drago in a daily moisturizing spritz 8 oz can you please give me a suggestion.
The Natural Beauty Workshop says
Hi Dee. You can certainly use this ingredient in a spritz. Keep in mind that it is water soluble, so you’ll want to mix it with other water based ingredients, or use an emulsifier to blend it with oils. You could try blending it with Aloe Vera Gel and Hydrosol to make something like a toner. I would suggest adding it at a low percentage, perhaps around 5-10% of your total recipe.

Would this herb be good to remove wrinkles? If so, taken orally or used topically?

Sangre de Drago Extract is a good ingredient for salves and ointments, but it wouldn’t be my first choice for anti-aging formulations. If you’d like to create something for mature skin I suggest checking out the following article which highlights some of our favorite ingredients for that purpose.
