It seems like everyone is crazy about pumpkin spice this time of year. I realized recently that a pumpkin spice scrub recipe was long overdue. This simple Coconut Oil and Sea Salt scrub is dressed up with spicy Ginger Powder and a dash of nutrient rich Carrot Oil. We used a Pumpkin Fragrance Oil instead of Essential Oils for this recipe since spice oils can sometimes be irritating to the skin. For an all natural version of this recipe, try adding some dried Cinnamon Powder or a tiny bit of Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil and Vanilla Absolute.

Hi love your blog and your store. I was wondering if I can sub the carrot oil for pumpkin oil and the ginger powder for carrot powder. I want to give this out for thanksgiving so you think I should add a preservative? if yes. what will be your suggestion of how much to add?
thanks 🙂

The Natural Beauty Workshop says
Hi Dee,
Thanks for visiting The Natural Beauty Workshop. Whenever I give scrubs as gifts I like to add a preservative just in case my recipients don’t handle the product with care. When folks take scrubs into the bath or shower they often contaminate them with water and bacteria accidentally. Adding a little GSE or Liquapar Oil helps protect them. Another option is to pack the scrubs into single use containers.
You can certainly substitute either of those ingredients. The aroma and color will be a little different, but still very pleasant! Good luck with your batch. I hope your friends and family love the scrubs!
