Winter Moisture Trio: three formulations for highly moisturizing natural beauty products.
It’s safe to say that 2020 has been a challenging year for all of us. With the pandemic still causing uncertainty across the globe, consumers are craving comfort, now more than ever. Many beauty practices that were taking place in the salon are happening from the comfort of home, and as the winter months approach, consumers will flock to their favorite brands for help with dry skin and hair.
Use the following formulations from our Winter Moisture Trio to inspire your own line of winter care products, and encourage your customers to create healthy self-care rituals that will keep their skin and hair moisturized and protected during the colder months.
These formulations focus on all three areas that need winter protection: hair, body, and face. We used highly nutritive oils that are packed with antioxidants, essential fatty acids and tocopherols. With all three of these products, you’ll find that a little bit goes a long way, making them essential beauty staples that could last all winter long.

Winter Hair Serum
Our Organic Kalahari Melon is the star ingredient in this liquid serum, supported by Organic High Oleic Safflower Oil and Organic Natural Jojoba Oil. Kalahari Melon Seed oil is showing up in many trendy beauty products on the market and with good reason: this remarkable oil boasts an impressive 70% linoleic acid (omega-6 essential fatty acid) content and is an excellent source of natural tocopherols.
As a finishing touch, we used a calming blend of Patchouli and Lavender Essential Oils in this serum, but you can also substitute with any of our Essential Oils, CO2 Extracts, Plant-Based Fragrance Oils or Fragrance Oils.

Winter Facial Serum
The last of our Winter Moisture Trio is perhaps our favorite. We focused on using ingredients that will keep skin looking vibrant and smooth all winter long. Most importantly, these lightweight oils will not clog your pores or leave skin feeling greasy.
The key ingredient in this serum is Tomato Seed CO2 Total Extract. Rich in lycopene, Vitamin E and essential fatty acids, this oil is an exceptional choice for delicate facial skin that needs some extra protection.
We blended oils of Myrrh, Frankincense, and Clary Sage to imbue a warm, seasonal aroma to this serum–however, you may wish to leave these out and let the mellow, fruity aroma of the Tomato Seed Oil shine through.

Dibora says
Hi, Thanks for sharing your blog. especially the procedure on how to make it. Very clear and informative. Can i ask? Is facial serum good for acne prone skin?
Kelly Owens says
Hello Dibora, The oils used in this serum were specifically chosen for their low comedogenic ratings and abundant benefits. Also, both the Frankincense CO2 Select Extract and Myrrh CO2 Select Extract are touted as helping problematic skin. Though as individual skin care needs vary, we suggest doing a test patch for 24 hours before applying full coverage.
